Day 12~ Disembark Civitavecchia & Wrap-up

Our last morning on board was another bittersweet kind of feeling. We had such an amazing trip and were sad it had come to an end.

After breakfast, we did one more last check of the cabin, making sure nothing was left behind, collected our carry-on bags, and headed to our disembarking location. Despite having so many people getting off, it was very organized. The crew have the system down to a science!

Once off the ship, we were directed to the luggage point to pick up our suitcases, which has special numbered stickers we had been given the day before, making them quick and easy to find. Then it was on the shuttle bus taking us out of the port and up near the train station.

We were flying to Munich, Germany out of Rome, and took the train back into Rome. After about a 3-hour drive from Munich back to Grafenwoehr, we made it home just in time for 4th of July fireworks over the Army post.

If you want an amazing vacation where you get to see multiple places without having to unpack and repack and change hotels, I strongly recommend a cruise. We’ve only ever been on a Celebrity Cruises, so I can’t say how any other cruise line is, but Celebrity was wonderful. Everything was truly luxurious from the decor to the service, food to the activities, and everything in between.
